"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you will be saved." Romans 10:9
How Do I Become a Christian?
God makes becoming a Christian simple enough that even a child can understand it. However, simple does not mean easy. Often times, the longer we run our own lives, the harder it is to surrender that authority; even if that surrendering is to a loving God and Savior. If you are looking to commit your life to Christ, then it is as easy as ABC. p
A- Admit: Admit to God that you need His help
B- Believe: Believe that Jesus died for you and was raised from the dead
C- Confess: Confess/ Declare yourself a follower of Jesus
"God in heaven, I am sorry. I have failed to live a perfect life. Thank you for Jesus who died for my mistakes. I believe His rising from the dead shows that I too can have a new life through Him. Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and Master. Those things You instruct me to do, with Your help, I will do. Those things You tell me not to do, I ask for Your help to resist those things. Thank You for saving me. Amen"
OKAY NOW WHAT?
If you just prayed that prayer for the first time..."Welcome to the Family of God!" Now, tell someone. This is a day for celebration! Find a group of Believers in Jesus and connect with them for support and encouragement. If you are in Northern Michigan, come join us. We, as a church, love to celebrate this decision through something the Bible calls Baptism. Baptism is a picture of our new relationship with Christ. The water represents the grave. So a new Believer shows their identification with Christ by being "buried" with Him in the grave/water and then, identifying with His resurrection and new life, as they emerge from the water.
